Software quality assurance has been as old as software industry. Since a lot of people misintrepret Quality assurance as testing, we will use the term Software Process Quality Assurance. With the advent of models like CMMI, ITIL etc., SPQA gained wide prominence. The need to create a good quality software at lowest cost resulted in many models. However there is no single website or blog that talks about SPQA, its basics, techniques and strategies. This blog attempts to fill that void. This blog is not about quality models or framworks. We will leave that to specialists.
This blog will attempt to focus on strategies from a process perspective that will help build a quality software. The main aspect for focus will be
1) SDLC models
2) Elements for good process
3) Software Metrics
4) Process Improvement strategies
Maybe there will be more elements added as we move along, but if IT professionals - both project managers as well as quality auditors understand the first 4 (in fact, the first 3 will do!), then the chances of a efficient and effective software being produced increases dratically.
This blog site is dedicated to the hundreds and thousands of Software Quality Advisors/Consultants who mnake the backbone of a quality department in an IT organization. These people, through their reletness efforts and working with project managers attempt to create the best possible process to produce good software.
